Matching each puppy with the right family is one of a breeder's most important jobs.
Ask about their everyday life, experience of dogs, working hours, home, children and other animals, and what they want to do with the dog. A conversation or a visit tells you more than a form, and gives the buyers a chance to ask their own questions.
By seven or eight weeks you know the puppies well: who is bold, who is cautious and who is busy. Many breeders place puppies by temperament rather than first come, first served; tell the people on your waiting list early if that is how you work.
Updates and photos while they wait build trust, and a breeder who stays available after the sale prevents many problems. The waiting list, interest from your kennel page and puppy updates can all be handled in the app.
